The UK Surgical Workforce Census 2025 is now open for responses until 23 June. Find out how you can have your say in shaping the future of surgery.

UK Surgical Workforce Census opens

The UK Surgical Workforce Census for 2025 has opened today (1 May 2025) to capture the real experiences of those working in surgery.

Led by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and supported by our College and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the census aims to improve understanding of the workforce, advocate on your behalf, and shape a more supportive and sustainable future for surgery.

By completing the census, we will ensure your experiences are at the forefront of decision making. You have already directly informed our discussions with governments on workforce shortages, wellbeing and training opportunities.

We understand your time is valuable. The census takes just 10 minutes to complete.

Your feedback drives real change and helps us advocate for better working conditions for the entire surgical workforce. Complete the census here by Monday 23 June
